Dermal Fillers 2017-05-05T13:19:16+00:00

Emma has been practicing as a Registered Nurse in the acute sector (NHS) for the last 14 years.

Cosmetic facial rejuvenation has always been an area of interest for Emma. After completing the cosmetic training course enabling her to administer wrinkle relaxing treatments and dermal fillers, she then decided to pursue an additional career in aesthetics.

“My goal is to make people feel better about themselves and boost self esteem…i’m looking to promote and achieve a fresh and natural look…”

Dermal fillers help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and volume loss. The fillers we use contain hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a naturally occurring ‘sugar’ within the body and is responsible for keeping our skin moisturised and is what gives younger skin that youthful ‘plump’ appearance…unfortunately, through the ageing process, our HA levels reduce significantly over time and fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear. The tell-tale sign is fat (volume) loss which in turn causes ‘lines’ to turn into deep folds and facial sagging. There are other factors which are thought to contribute to skin ageing/wrinkles, for example, gravity, diet, sun exposure, facial muscle movement and toxins!

Dermal filler results are noticeable immediately and up to 14 days after!

The dermal filler products currently on offer are the hyaluronic acid “Juvederm” range, which includes the latest ‘Vycross technology’ fillers. These are the newest additions to the Juvederm range (Volift/Volbella/Voluma) that contain a “smoother and more natural gel” and found to have increased longevity in clinical trials.

Treatments last approximately 6-12 months (health assessment essential on treatment day).

Following treatment, clients are advised to be seen by the practitioner approximately 2 weeks after initial treatment for follow-up assessment. No follow-up appointments will be given out after this time.

Could all clients please remember not to take aspirin, ibuprofen, St. John’s wart (herbal), Vitamin E, fish oil, Ginko Bilboa (herbal) for 1-2 weeks before ALL treatments….and also to avoid coffee and alcohol for at least 24-48 hours. These are all drugs that ‘thin’ the blood increasing the likelihood of increased swelling and bruising. Full health questionnaire will be taken during consultation prior to ALL treatments, however if you have any health concerns or are on medications, it is advisable to discuss this with your GP prior to undergoing dermal filler treatments. Many thanks!
